BOOK RENTAL
BOOK SCHEMES
We operate a volunteer run Book Purchase and Rental Scheme in the school. It means that we provide all your children's school books and stationery for you at reduced costs. It is a fantastic scheme, as it takes the hassle out of sourcing and buying books and it results in significant savings for you and your family.
If you join the scheme, and pay on time, there will be a full set of books and stationery waiting for your child when they come to school in September.
Junior Infants - 2nd Class; Book Purchase Scheme
It is not possible to organise a Book Rental Scheme in the lower classes as the children write into most of their books meaning that these books cannot be re-used. If you wish to participate in our scheme, we will provide the books and copies to your child at a reduced price compared to the shop price. As we have to purchase all of our child's books new each year (with the exception of the readers), the discount which we can give you is not as high as with the Senior Classes (the majority of whose books can be recycled each year).
3rd Class - 6th Class; Book Rental Scheme
The terms of the scheme are as follows:
1. Each child in the rental scheme will be issued with all textbooks, workbooks, copies, dictionaries and atlases.
2. A mixture of new and second-hand books will be issued to your child.
3. The Association will cover all new books at no cost to Parents.
4. Children must treat their books with respect. A fine will be imposed in cases of extreme abuse or neglect of books. If a child's books are not reusable, the Committee reserves the right to decline to accept him/her into the Scheme in subsequent years.
The benefits of both schemes are: -
a. All your child(ren's) books and copies will be at his/her desk on the first day of school, avoiding travel and queues.
b. You will make a saving compared to the shop price.
c. As a Green School, we are helping with recycling, cutting down paper waste etc.
