Today, we took care of injured animals at the vet.
We also built some animal cages for the animals, and made animal masks. The sun is in the centre of the solar system. It is a star not a planet. It gives light and heat to all the other planets. Mercury is the closest planet to the sun. It is also the smallest planet in the solar system. Venus is the second planet from the sun. It is easy to see Venus in the sky at night. Earth is the third planet from the sun. It is the only planet with liquid water. Earth is the only planet that has life. Mars is the red planet. It is the second smallest planet in the solar system. Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system. Jupiter has 67 moons that orbit the planet. Saturn is the farthest planet from the Earth you can still see with your own eyes. Saturn spins faster than any of the other planets. Uranus is so far away, you need a telescope to see it. It has 27 moons. Neptune is very cold as it is the farthest planet from the sun. Neptune is also very windy.
This week, we have been taking care of animals at the zoo. We have been taking the animals to the vet too. We built new cages for them. We made some animal masks too.
Last week, we designed our own menus at our restaurant. We worked in the restaurant as the waiter, chef, and manager. We served customers food and drinks. We made tables and chairs for the customers too. Today we performed our play, 'Ralph the Reindeer' in the school hall. The hall was packed with lots of people but we weren't a bit nervous. Our teachers were very proud of us as we remembered all our lines and sang our songs perfectly. Here are some pictures of the cast!
We have been learning about the very first Christmas and really enjoyed making a crib for Mary and Joseph. It took a lot of planning, designing, painting and sticking.
Our playtimes are great fun. We can play with Lego and building activities. There is a fun wooden village to play with and we love threading pictures. It is a good way to learn and practice being good friends. We have fun when we work together.
This week we are reading some Halloween stories. We love the story 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson. You can watch it here, just click on the button below!
