After we finish our classwork in Maths, we can pick an activity from the 'Maths Table' in our classroom. There are lots of things to choose from like pegs patterns, connecting camels, shape pictures, bingo and dominoes. It is lots of fun and we are learning at the same time.

We looked at the famous artist Mondrian. He was an abstract artist who loved using lines and bold colours to create his paintings. We painted our own Mondrian-style paintings after learning all about him.
We have been practicing with lines this week. We made lots of different types of lines with our pencils and then used paint to make a colourful picture. Can you see all our zig zags, wavy and looped lines? The pictures really brighten up our classroom.
Back to school and we have been very busy in Art this month. We made a class collage of all of our different handprints.

Senan and Caitlin got the chance to be conductors. Big thanks to Ms. McHugh and Ms. Whelan for organising this fun workshop. Painting our colourful rainbows kept us busy. It was difficult to remember the order of the colours but we looked at some real rainbow pictures to help.
This week we are looking at floating and sinking in science. We picked lots of items around the classroom and predicted if they can float or sink in water. We discussed which materials seem to be the best for floating or sinking and we recorded our results. |
