POLISH AMBASSADOR VISITS ST. SEACHNALL'S N.S.
As part of the celebration of Ireland’s 50-year membership to the EU and 20 years since the official opening of the CES, the Polish Ambassador, Ms Anna Sochańska was invited to celebrate and mark these occasions. The CES Polish teacher Ms Izabela Bochniarz gathered the full school community of Polish studentstogether and they delivered a great performance of Polish poetry and songs. The St. Seachnalls N.S school choir and orchestra performed a variety of Irish songs and music. It was a great celebration of Polish and Irish cultures and a very enjoyable event for all.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: 13th MAY 2023

MINDFULNESS WITH UNA CURRAN: MARCH 2023
MINDFULNESS WITH UNA CURRAN
We applied for funding through Meath County Council and to Local County Councillor Gerry O’Connor to allow us to bring Mindfulness and Well-being lessons to all the classes in our school. We were successful in receiving €2400 in funding. Then, with an extra €300 from St Seachnall’s Parent Association, we were able to organise 3 sessions of Mindfulness and Wellbeing with Una Curran from Wings of Wellbeing for all 24 classes in our school.
This term Una has been working with Junior Infants, Senior Infants and Second Class.
Within each lesson in school your child experiences:
Mindful breathing techniques
Brain Gym & energy movement
Simple yoga
Listening to a story book or poem based on Emotional literacy or Well-being.
Story massage
Meditation/Relaxation
Una has found that within each class there are some children who need more movement and some need stillness as our sensory bodies are all unique. By teaching different techniques each child should learn a technique that helps calm their own body and mind. Her aim is to plant the seeds of well-being and that children will use the techniques independently when they need it in school, out of school and throughout their lives.
Thank you to parents from Junior Infants, Senior Infants & Second Class who attended classes with your children this week. We look forward to inviting more parents in the near future.

MATTIE MC DONNELL CUP
On Thursday morning, we welcomed members of the victorious Dunshaughlin team. The team defeated Duleek Bellewstown in Pairc Tailtean last Saturday by a massive 10 point margin. Dunshuaghlin will return to play Senior Championship football in 2023 and will now go on to represent Meath in the Leinster Intermediate club championship Quarter Final against Kildare champions Ballyteague in Pairc Tailtean on Saturday November 5th.
Richie Kealy, who scored two points the last time Dunshaughlin contested an Intermediate Final in 1997 (when Duleek were also the beaten finalists) has now won the Mattie McDonnell cup as a player and as a manager.
We are very proud of the entire team and their great victory for Dunshaughlin. However, we are especially proud of those players who are past pupils of St.Seachnall’s and played football here only a few short years ago......

Congratulations to all pupils who took part in the Meath Primary Schools' Cross Country in March at Navan Race Course. LOCAL RUNNING TEAM HELP ST. SEACHNALLS NS RAISE MUCH NEEDED FUNDS FOR OUR NEW ASTRO TURF PITCH
St Seachnall's National School in Dunshaughlin Co Meath presently has a grass play area but wet☔️ weather frequently makes the area unusable resulting in restricted PE and break time play.
Our School development committee has committed to turning the area into an all weather surface to encourage all to get and stay active.
We are a group of local runners 🏃🏃🏃🏃 who are participating in the Dublin City Marathon and we would like to ask that your support our efforts and help us raise funds for this great project.
Turn the St Seachnall's grass play area into an all weather surface so that PE and break times can be active !!!
