Seachnalls on tour in the aviva
The children of St. Seachnall's N.S. were given a welcome surprise before the 2014 Halloween break when the school was offered the chance to attend a Republic of Ireland soccer international in the Aviva Stadium Dublin at reduced prices. The take up on tickets was huge as over 150 children from fourth, fifth and sixth class and 70 adults including parents and 8 teachers from the school purchased a ticket for the match which would see the Republic of Ireland take on the USA in an international soccer friendly. Arrangements were put in place in the lead up to the game as all involved got into the spirit of the occasion by wearing green, making Ireland flags and putting together banners for the evening. For many (young and old) there present on the night, it was their first time in the stadium and a 4-1 win for the boys in green left the happy if somewhat tired Seachnall's group heading home in good spirits. We were later to find out that we featured quite a bit on the television coverage of the match. See last photo!!
