The senior boys season came to a heartbreaking end in Swords on Wednesday where they were narrowly defeated by Gaelscoil Colmcille. The boys worked tremendously hard all game and lead for the majority of it. They showed brilliant skill and teamwork throughout but ended up being narrowly defeated by 2 points. The boys had a brilliant year, finishing second in their group and putting in some quality performances. They were hugely unlucky to not make it to a final. The St. Seachnall's coaches want to thank the boys for their time, effort and commitment all year.
Our junior boys played an incredibly exciting game away in Skerries. Unfortunately we came out on the wrong side of a 2 point defeat.
Well done to our girls camogie team on a super performance against St. Mary's Ashbourne. Unfortunately we lost on this occasion, however the team all really enjoyed the day.
Dunshaughlin Tidy Towns Group invited St. Seachnall's NS to participate in the An Taisce National Spring Clean event on Thursday 30th April. The children from Ms. O'Dwyer's class helped with litter picking, hoeing sweeping and general cleaning chores. Well done to all involved. On 22nd April, St. Seachnall's NS Choir participated in The Big Sing in the National Stadium. It was a brilliant night. We wish to thank Ms. O'Dowd and Ms. Maguire for preparing the children so well for the event. Our favourite guest was definitely 10 year old Stevie Mulrooney, who performed One Moment in Time. Congratulations to our Junior Girls GAA team on a super win against Gaelscoil Baile Brigín 9-12 to 1-0.
Our hurling and camogie teams were both in action this week. Our hurling team had a great win against Wilkinstown 6:11-3:1. We are delighted to have a camogie team once again in St. Seachnalls - hard to believe it is 8/9 years since we last had a camogie team. The girls performed very well, but were unfortunately beaten.
Thank you to our Parents' Association for presenting hoodies to all the children in Rang 6. The children are delighted with their new hoodies. Our Student Council attended Earth Day on Wednesday 22nd April in Dunshaughlin Park. This theme this year was Our Power, Our Planet. There were lots of activities including a Poster Exhibition, Nature Workshop, Communication Board for Messages, Food Waste Initiative, Hives for Solitary Bees, Garbage Graveyard, Novelty Planters and Tidy Towns Information stand. Thank you to Dunshaughlin TIdy Towns for organising the day. |
