Congratulations to our students who received medals yesterday following the Community Games Art COUNTY competition that took place in Navan on April 25th as follows.
U10 girls Áine Delany (2nd place) U12 girls Aoileann Fahey (2nd place) U12 boys Rhys Collins (4th place) Aoileann & Áine will go through to the National Final in Carlow on September 5th/6th. Well done to everyone who took part On Thursday 28th May, fifth class participated in Tesco Stronger Starts Cooks programme. The children all prepared a vegetarian pasta. It was great fun & the children really enjoyed the lesson. Thank you to Philip Walsh for giving a very informative presentation on World War 1 & World War 2 to fifth & sixth class. Philip also shared his World War memorabilia with the children. Congratulations to all the children who made their First Holy Communion on Saturday 16th May. Thank you to Father Seán for a lovely ceremony and for all his support during the year, to our school choir, our music teachers, Ms. Mercer, Ms. O'Dowd, Ms. Traynor and Ms. McHugh. We also wish to thank our PA and all parents who volunteered to help with refreshments. Finally, thank you to Ms. Tighe, Ms. McNerney and Ms. Traynor for preparing the children so well. It was a wonderful day. The senior boys season came to a heartbreaking end in Swords on Wednesday where they were narrowly defeated by Gaelscoil Colmcille. The boys worked tremendously hard all game and lead for the majority of it. They showed brilliant skill and teamwork throughout but ended up being narrowly defeated by 2 points. The boys had a brilliant year, finishing second in their group and putting in some quality performances. They were hugely unlucky to not make it to a final. The St. Seachnall's coaches want to thank the boys for their time, effort and commitment all year.
Our junior boys played an incredibly exciting game away in Skerries. Unfortunately we came out on the wrong side of a 2 point defeat.
