St. Seachnall's Junior Boys' had a huge win against Réalt na Mara, Skerries on Wednesday in the div. 3 final. The team, lead by their captain Cathal McGivney started strong and burst into an early lead. The St. Seachnall's defence was rock solid throughout the game and set the tone for a brilliant performance. The boys made some great moves and scored enough goals to keep their opposition at bay. The boys held strong in the second half and finished with a flurry of points to see off their opponents and raise the trophy in front of a huge St. Seachnall's crowd! Mr. MacNamara and Mr. Stafford want to thank the boys for their hard work and determination all year - well done!
The Junior Girls produced a fantastic team performance to defeat St. Oliver Plunkett’s Malahide by 2-7 to 2-0 in the Division 2 Fingal League Final at Fingallians, Swords.
Having drawn with the same opposition earlier in the league campaign, both teams knew they were evenly matched and the opening half proved to be a tight and competitive affair. Scores were difficult to come by as both defences worked tirelessly. A crucial goal from Sofia Reilly helped the girls gain the advantage, and they went into the interval leading 1-2 to 1-0.
The team made the perfect start to the second half when Greta McTigue found the net shortly after the restart. The goal provided a major boost and helped the girls take control of the game. Their work rate, determination and teamwork were outstanding all over the pitch as they continued to add scores while remaining strong in defence.
St. Oliver Plunkett’s Malahide battled hard throughout, but the girls showed great composure and resilience to maintain their lead. Every player contributed to a superb team effort, helping secure a memorable victory.
As the final whistle sounded, celebrations erupted as the girls were crowned Division 2 Fingal League champions. Captains Sofia Reilly and Ellie Ward were presented with the league cup, ending a fantastic year for the team.
