Well done to the 5th class gardening team and our trainee gardeners in first and second class who put the finishing touches to our garden today. The sun finally shone and great fun was had by all. We would like to say a huge thank-you to Sandra and Jimmy Kelly, parents of James Kelly in second who organised beautiful summer bedding plants for our raised beds and wellie wall. We really appreciate your help and support. Also a big thank you to Pat our caretaker who is always there to lend a hand.
Fifth class pupils are out helping to transform the garden every lunchtime. Unfortunately the weather has not been kind to us there year, and we have our fingers crossed for a sunny June! If only our flowers and vegetables were as hardy as the weeds! Despite it being June the wind and the rain will not let up, so our gardeners worked on and even managed to laugh and smile through it all! Today we replanted sunflowers and radishes and hung some fat balls for the birds. The insects have voted our hotel accommodation as 5 star - 5th class are busy voting on a name and it will be announced later this week. Tomorrow evening we are expecting a new addition to the garden - Sammy the scarecrow! Remember those children from 1st and 2nd class who want to plant flowers in wellies must bring in their wellies by this Thursday at the latest.
