FLOAT/SINK EXPERIMENT
IN OUR CLASS WE CARRIED OUT AN EXPERIMENT ON A NUMBER OF OBJECTS. WE USED THE SKILLS OF PREDICTION, INVESTIGATION AND OBSERVATION.IT WAS A VERY INTERESTING EXPERIMENT. WE LEARNED THAT OBJECTS FLOAT OR SINK DEPENDS ON THEIR DENSITY. DENSITY IS HOW HEAVY AN OBJECT IS FOR ITS SIZE.
FOR EXAMPLE AN ITEM WILL FLOAT IF IT'S LIGHT FOR ITS SIZE E.G. A LOG
AN ITEM WILL SINK IF IT'S HEAVY FOR ITS SIZE E.G. A PAPERCLIP
HERE ARE OUR CLASS RESULTS
ORANGE PEEL - FLOATS
ORANGE SEGMENT - SINKS
ORANGE - SINKS
BANANA SKIN - SINKS
BANANA - FLOATS
STRAW - FLOATS
COIN- SINKS
CORK - FLOATS
PAPER CLIP - SINKS
PENCIL - FLOATS
