Active Schools week started on Monday. We wore green to show our support for the Ireland soccer team who are playing in the Euros in France. Come on you boys in green!!!
We also took part in loads of different races for example obstacle course, potato and spoon race, ball between your legs race, fast walking, jockey back race, three legged race, sprints, crawling race and lots more. We had loads of fun. Thanks to Ms. Crehan and the Active Schools committee for making it a great day. We can't wait for the bike race and Junior sports day!!! On Friday we went on a Maths trail around our school. We identified 3D shapes within our school environment and we saw spheres, cylinders, cubes, cuboids. It was a fun learning about shapes in our school grounds.
We created a rainbow paper plate twirler with a pot of gold.
We had fun painting, cutting and sticking. Hope you like them!! Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh Here are some pictures of the fun we had on Green Day.
A big thank you to Ms. O' Hara and her Green Team who put tremendous effort in to making Green Day such an exciting and fun day!! Miss O' Sullivan's class were learning all about length.
Did you know that the length of your arms is roughly equal to 1 metre!! We learned all about measuring length of objects in our school environment. You can measure the length of objects by using your hand span, your feet and your arms. We discovered that our classroom whiteboard is longer than 1metre, the window in our classroom is about 1metre and our pencil cases are shorter than 1metre. We had so much fun completing our maths trail on a lovely sunny day!! :D |
